Treatment of diseases of the large intestine

The large intestine is very sensitive to stress as well as taking the following matters:
- unnatural medicines such as medication (especially aspirin)
- junk food
- processed food
- alcohol
- poisonous heavy metals and chemicals that can enter our body with food and water (such as mercury, lead, arsenic, phosphorus)
- an irregular diet
- fat
All the above can lead to the weakening of the immune system, collecting toxins, and constipation-related conditions.
Since we all experiencing threads related to COVID it is extremely important to keep our immune system as strong as possible.
The gastrointestinal tract is in constant contact with the external environment as food enters the intestine.
The intestine is also in charge of the absorption of food as it must distinguish beneficial nutrients from infectious and toxic food components (preservatives, test enhancers, color additives, etc.).
The intestine is supposed to create effective protection against external adverse factors, including potential carcinogens and pathogens.
At the same time, the intestine ensures not only its own safety but also:
- the gut’s immune system is responsible for producing antibodies (immunoglobulins) and supplying immunoreactive cells to other areas
- the intestine is the main source of lymphoid cells (they carry out the immune response), which subsequently populate many organs
- the intestine contains a huge number of bacteria, including permanent and beneficial to the body. Their composition includes more than 400 species
- intestinal microbiota (a set of microorganisms) exist in symbiosis with the host immune system (including the intestinal immune system) and participate in its activation, modulation and regulation
As we know the structure of the large intestine is different from that of the small intestine, it is larger in diameter and its walls are covered with numerous bulges, which in prolonged constipation turn into pockets of coprolites (stool stones).
Is it true that health during the cold and virus season depends a lot on the well-being of the gastrointestinal tract?
Does the gut save us from viruses?
Do intestinal defences help with coronavirus?
What are the causes of the intestinal dysbacteriosis?
Today we try to use more precise clinical terms that provide for such disorders: antibiotic-associated diarrhea, bacterial overgrowth syndrome, pseudomembranous colitis.
Do we need probiotics and what are the possible benefits of them?
How do you choose the right probiotics at the pharmacy?
Do we need to take probiotics and other bacteria containing supplements from time to time for our microflora?
As we know the structure of the large intestine is different from that of the small intestine, it is larger in diameter and its walls are covered with numerous bulges, which in prolonged constipation turn into pockets of coprolites (stool stones).
Some main symptoms of colon disease are:
- stool disorders, which are a consequence of impaired peristalsis of the jejunum, that is, if it is accelerated, diarrhea (diarrhea) occurs, if it is slowed, constipation appears
- abdominal pain, which occurs in the lateral parts of the abdominal wall, sometimes in the umbilical area. The pain may be of an aching nature, but sometimes cramping-like pains are observed
- changes in the nature of the stool, that is, changes in the consistency and color of the feces
- flatulence or accumulation of gas in the intestine occurs when there is significant disturbance indigestion in general and this usually corresponds with a rumbling in the stomach and bloating
The patients also often complain of edema, weight gain, even with a selective type of food or diet, weakness in the whole body, bad moods.
The diagnosis of the disease is usually made by colonoscopy, using radiological and other diagnostic methods.
Treatment protocol suggested by the Nikolenko Clinic in Cyprus:
Typically it begins treatment with hydrocolonic therapy, it is a good, safe method and one of the most effective for these types of diseases.
Hydrocolonic therapy is the cleansing of the large Intestine from:
- fecal stones
- from large colonies of helminths (intestinal worms)
- from toxins settled in the “colpomata” of the large Intestine
This method has no impact on the microflora of the large intestine as the water used is filtered and free of chlorine and other impurities.
Furthermore, at the end of therapy, lactobacilli (probiotics) are injected directly into the large intestine, which is the reverse of therapeutic and highly effective as it gets directly into the large intestine through the anus, bypassing the stomach and small intestine.
The presence of helminths can be determined based on the specific symptoms, lab tests as well as through the sight glass of the reverse flow apparatus of colon therapy (HERRMANN Apparatebau GmbH). This alternative, sometimes, even helps to determine the type of helminths.
In addition, it also helps to determine the presence of fecal stones, the presence of blood, and other inclusions.

After a complete cleansing of the large intestine, the patient is examined again and a plan of further treatment is assigned accordingly (more than 40% of patients after hydrocolonic therapy do not need further treatment since all pathological symptoms disappear).
After hydrocolonic therapy, if some symptoms persist, the patient undergoes colonoscopy, and treatment is prescribed together with gastroenterologists using:
- probiotics
- anti-parasitic drugs
- natural immunomodulatory extracts with anti-inflammatory and deep cleansing effects on the entire organism and digestive system. For example, as AHCC (Japan, Active Hexose Correlated Compound), Myco Digest (Israel), and others.
The above protocol has a very positive effect on the treatment of diseases of the intestine and It has been proven for years to be a good one.
